You're not sure what people are expecting from Rogers? People are expecting him to play like a first round draft choice that has the experience now to be better than mediocre. He picked up right where he left off last year...burnt toast.

As for Smoot, you're right, unfortunately he did not outplay Rogers. I just think he's shown more in his career to start over Rogers at this point.
