Still, I love it - he's my favorite player on the field simply for the stuff he does when he doesn't have the ball. Hardest working guy out there even if he does sit out preseason.

But would you prefer a player who shys away from tackles, or one who is agreesive, passionate, and gives his all on the field?

I am just sick of people finding ways to hate on Portis. Not saying that you are, but it seems like some fans on this board have just become tools to the media and potential speculations. Now that you have your mindset about Portis, you all put any of his actions, quotes, etc into that frame without properly analyzing the situation. There is a psychology term for this problem in human nature, but people just need to look at the situation from a pure game and player aspect.

I agree Portis looked really fresh and he looked like he was ready to go. Betts had a couple really nice runs, but he didn't seem to have it quite like last year. I'm sure we will see the Betts from last year return in the next couple weeks.
