Oh, and case you forgot, Portis dropped a pass that could have kept a drive alive.

Portis sucked yesterday.
As I pointed out in the Portis thread, it was a muffed hand off. Portis never had possession. It's a little different than breaking a 30 yard run and getting stripped from behind.

And yeah, Portis sucked yesterday... He only had 4.3 per carry and a touchdown. Betts was just spectacular with his 1.3 yard average and failed goal line attempts...

It was not a muffed handoff. That fumble was 100% on CP. Portis clinched down on the ball with his hands. You never ever do that on hand offs. You let the QB place the ball in your gut. Football 101. This is the stuff you do over and over again in practice, minicamps, OTA's and so on. Oh yeah, CP didn't participate in any of that stuff. He's too good for that.

Look, I'm not making this a Portis/Betts thing. CP is the better player. But I'm not going to sit here and make excuses for the guy like you are. When he screws up he deserves to get ripped. He screwed up yesterday and as a veteran he should not makes those mistakes.

A muffed handoff, bad exchange, whatever you want to call it, but it was not 100% Portis. Campbell seemed to be quite a distance away from Portis when he was making the handoff, which obviously shouldn't have been the case.

And I'm not excusing Portis from blame at all. That was a horribly executed play. My point to you is, Portis fumbling has nothing to do with Betts' inability to get into the endzone, in two attempts from the one yard line.

Campbell was going to put it right in his gut and Portis reached to grab it. That's on Portis 100% of the time.

He probably won't do it again for the rest of this season, but Campbell did everything he was supposed to. Portis knows it was his fault, we don't have to defend him. It was a mistake, its over.

man i hate calling you out all the time but your perspective stinks. portis didnt think he was too good for that, gibbs did if anyone. and you are making it a cp/betts thing because you dont know the redskins personel. you think portis gets tackled on 3rd and goal, no way, betts doesnt have a nose for the endzone...portis does....the argument is alot deeper, i will get deeper if you continue to think portis doesnt get in.

you said shotgun and pass earlier would have been your call? well again you dont know the redskins then. they went to what they think they do best and thats power running with a play action mixed in. by the way saunders let everyone know that we have touchdown to cooley on the play action play call. shotgun pass is not what we do best or have the personel to do at the goaline...our wr are good in space but not jump balls or positioning in tight quarters. if we ever line up in shotgun at the 1 it will be a designed JC run....KNOW YOUR TEAM!!!!!!!! or stick with the patriots who you are obviously gay for.

Dude, your a complete fool. Portis would not have made it in. Saying Betts does not have a nose for the endzone is just stupid. Bugel even said so. He sees the guy up close every single day. He said that Betts can slam it there in short yardage just as good as Portis. Where Portis excels is in open field.

Dumbass, Shotgun on first down would have been just fine. Throw it in the endzone on 1st down. That way it's either incomplete, or a TD. Then go under center 2nd 3rd and 4th down.

And I'm not gay for the Pats. Your probably gay for Portis.

yes he would have. portis would have followed his block "OUTSIDE" instead of trying to cut it into the teeth of that D just like he did in philly and earlier in the game. looking at their career touchdowns "a-hole" then tell me who gets into the endzone ....tell me how you get 1100 yards and only 4 touchdowns??s then how you get 500 yards and 7 touchdowns. yeah thats right clinton portis has 55 touchdowns in his career. ladell betts has 9. portis knows how to score and is a better back so he has gotten more of a chance. they were both drafted in 2002 so it speaks margins about portis's ability to score no matter where from. if you cant see that then you are freaking blind. joe bugel is never gonna call out one of his players and he shouldnt that would be retarded....but if you believe everything you hear out of redskins park, then you are retarded. in any respect portis a better goaline runner, and yes he excells more in space also but portis is a more physical runner. ask your boy aikman who you were quoting so much earlier who is a more physical slam it in there runner, because he talked about portis's phyicality yesterday and how rare it is a guy his size runs and blocks like he does. and incase you missed it, al saunders called it out that they had a wide open touchdown on the play action pass from the 1, but campbell threw under to sellers instead of a wide open cooley in the back. and incase you didnt see the third down play, watch it again and watch where sellers goes and where betts cut it into....goaline rule as a runner, let the fullback lead you and he went outside while betts cut it into the teeth, something clinton would not have done and even if he did, he doesnt go down as easy.

you can say all you want about my logic, smootsmack can regulate this board but you are reacting the same way i am because we dont have the same views.....attacking each other is what makes it fun....in my opinion your perspective sucks and its funny how easy it is to tell between a guy who played the game and a fan, and you just the fan, nothing wrong with being the fan because i am and have been one a long time... oh and by the way nice come back "i am not gay for the pats, your probably gay for portis" haha man you were reaching there, but to answer you yes i am gay for portis hahha

FYI....to CP butt boy. I played too. QB. We ran a very similar offense that the Skins do. Although it's no where near the volume. The numbers system or passsing tree with combo routes, plus specific names for all RB routes.

What did you play? Let me guess? Center? You probably liked it when the QB put his hands under your ass.

haha at least we have something in common, QB (flag football?)....now about the center, are all centers gay. my guess is no. did you read my post though, it was very choppy because i had so much to say but i think you found more than enough info to see my point. i am still searching for someone to agree with shotgun and passing at the 1 with the washington redskins. man you are easily rattled for a qb anyways, by the way i am curious as to what system you think the skins are running QB? hahaha "passing tree with combo routes" easy uncle rico you dont have to prove it in your posts....but that comment says wonders, you sound like a reporter.

Pretty rare, I guess.

What in the F does this have to do with Portis?

The reason Smoot has to "regulate" the board is because people like you spew garbage all over it. Look, if you aren't going to know what you are talking about, at least use good grammar and punctuation and try to trick us a little.

If you are going to be arrogant enough to call yourself "holcknowsbest", you'd better be damned sure.

Just be happy that Smoot is playing this one cool, because Skinsfan69 is not the one who is out of line here.
