We don't typically do the seating chart thing in the South. You basically show up and then it's a free-for-all to the buffet of finger foods. We don't usually do a full course sit down dinner.

Good luck. I was nervous as heck. And we got into a big fight the night before, just to add to the excitement

Wait until christmas night and then you only have to give her the ring. If you do it before then you have the ring and then christmas you have to buy her some more stuff.

Hey, that's a good idea... Her birthday is Dec 23rd too. So I could knock out the engagement, Christmas, and her birthday with one stone, literally!

In reality I'd get a pretty big eye roll if I didn't come through with any presents....

If I came through with a ring, presents more than likely wouldn't matter. But think of all the extra points I have the opportunity to gain if I do show up with presents also! I could cash in on those for a few years easily...
