You're right, no hundred yard rushers yet. Although Maynard and Westbrooks came within a whisker of getting there. |

This will be interesting. But for reasons I've posted, I just don't see N.E. bombs away with Taylor back there. Yes, Welker and Stallworth are nice, but they haven't really faced three starting corners all year either. Furthermore, as soon as you guys bring your punter on the field after the first drive, both sides will know it's time to dig in and fight. |

I'm a little concerned about the Moss match-up, but I really think the Skins corners will hold their own against Stallworth and Welker. I'm far more concerned about Watson than those other two.

you know.. i sense a bit of arrogance. Look a ton of Skins fans out here have complimented your team and coach. saying how good you are and how you will probably win. You seem not to want to face the fact that our D is the strongest you have played and seem to believe our scheme is not working. If you have not noticed #1 in the NFC #3 in the NFL. We have played 2 or 3 of the top offenses in the league and have basically shut them down. I think you should show the same respect on the REDSKINS board as many of us here have show the Pats. |

That will change now. their first few possesions will be hard. especially when our defense is fresh. our LBs and DL will take away their run game. have the speed on the LB to challenge their middle passing game |

Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
hey guys, long time lurker first time poster here. I just want to say that I agree with 12thman on this one. The Pats really have not faced a defense like ours and it's about time this offense gets going. I can deal with being called a homer for a week but I do believe we can pull of a win.

The NE run game has to be respected. They can run the ball on us if we sit back in the cover 2 a lot.
I see GW mixing it up a lot w/his calls, maybe seeing how much pressure our front 4 can generate before calling blitzes. |

Quote:
RBs against Skins in 2007: 1-R. Brown 32 yds, 2.9 ypc/J. Chatman 15 yds, 2.1 ypc 2-B. Westbrook 96 yds, 5.6 ypc (long of 27 yds) 3-D. Ward 94 yds (26 rushes), 3.6 ypc/Droughns 3 yds, 1.0 ypc 4-BYE 5-DET: K. Jones 48 yds, 4.4 ypc/T. Bell 15 yds, 3.8 ypc 6-GB: D. Wynn 37 yds, 2.8 ypc/V. Morency 11 yds, 2.8 ypc 7-ARI: E. James 83 yds (27 rushes), 3.1 ypc I was curious. ![]() So no RB has hit 100 yards yet this year. Brian Westbrook was closest with 96 yards, helped by a 27 yard-run. The Skins allow an average of 80.7 rushing yards a game, 5th best in the NFL. For comparison's sake, the Patriots give up 92.7 a game. If Maroney plays, he might have a slow day. If they have to rely on Faulk and Evans, they should just keep 5 WRs in all game. The Skins do have 8 INTs this year, near the top of the league (leaders have 10 but some didn't have bye week yet). 2 went back for TDs (tops in NFL) They'll have to beat us through the air, which they're certainly capable of, but it will be the biggest test to the Pats so far this season. They haven't really played a good pass D yet, even the Cowboys are middle-of-the-league against the pass, not very good. Our secondary is great. Our whole D is actually, now ranked #5 in the NFL, we were #3 last week. We're still ranked #1 in the NFC. Sure I'm nervous, but because of our D, we have the best chance of anyone so far to beat the Patriots, or even play them close. |

Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
I see the Skins going into the coliseum aka Gillette Stadium and running the rock down their throats. I see the Skins putting together their best effort and coming home with the biggest win of the year. Greg Williams needs to take zone blitzing to another level. Let Taylor and Landry prove they can cover the deep ball and run support with the best of them. Blitz the hell out of them dont let Brady get in a rhythm. We win this game I'm putting my chips on the pretend table who ever wants in get in!! LOL

Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
right now I am realistically saying 38-24 Pats but my homer prediction is 30-24 in OT Redskins win.

The Patriots defense has NEVER surrendered more than 20 points all season. (The two games where Miami and Dallas scored higher than 20 was due to a the opposing defense scoring on a turnover). So how can you use the word "realistically" in that prediction? Because based on the stats, and, how the 'Skins have performed recently on offense that is not a "realistic" prediction.? |

and last time I checked we have scored on Defense in 2 of the last 3 games and if our FG kicker hits the FG on the opening drive of the 3rd Qtr we have 24 points, so 24 points is not out of the question and remember Jsaon Campell overthrew a wide open Santana Moss on monday night that would have given us 27
