Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

I was trying to figure out why all the 'Pokes fans were hijacking this thread, which in no way concerns them. Then I remembered:

1) Bye week in Dallas and they are getting bored.

2) They got ripped a new one by the Pats and are REALLY hoping the Skins take it hard so they won't feel so bad about themselves.

3) Cowboys fans not from Texas (I can at least deal with the locals, they have no choice) are just a bunch of bandwagon riders anyway so they just went and found the top game of the week and decided to ride the NE wagon for a few days.

Go find your own forum and come back in Nov. when the Cowboys are actually involved, or at least offer some intelligent analysis. You are adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Exactly. Not all the Cowboys fans posting are to blame, but the ones who are make their fanbase look like morons who know absolutely NOTHING about football, and ride the jock of the whoever's popular at the time.

Please prove us wrong.

Good analysis SC Skins Fan. My two cents:

1) I post regularly on this board because of friends and co-workers.

2) You might be right, I hate the Pats because Dallas recently lost to them but there is nothing that would make a Cowboys fan want the Skins to win (unless it would help the Cowboys get into the playoffs, even then it would be iffy)

3) Oh yeah, bandwagon riders, for three straight years they went 5-11, 12 years since they won the SB, what a great ride that was!

FYI, I do visit Cowboys forums and over there we welcome other teams fans because we do want a different prospective, no one wants to keep reading posts by total homers. I like this forum because I live in the DC area and the member, most of them, are nice and intelligent.

1) yes Dallas is on a bye week

2) Yes Dallas lost

3) The Dallas fans that attend the Cowboy games on Sundays are such a disappointment. Do you ever hear crowd noise...NO you dont.

When the hell do you have to be from Texas or from the same place the team is to be a fan of a team. Dallas is the only team for most people from the South like my family in TEN, ARK, Miss, Alabama, and Texas. Bandwagoner is a person that I can never be. I think you need to check yourself first.

This is the part that pisses me off. People equate being southern or country (I'm REALLY reserving the word "redneck trash") with liking the Cowboys.

Why?

Because there's nothing that validates you being "country" more than liking a Cowboy. Why? Because Cowboys are what being country is all about.

Sure there are country people everywhere who like all teams, but I don't think many people can deny that MANY Cowboy fans tend to lean on the redneck side of the fence.

Who said anything about "Country" "Redneck" etc. One can be "Country" and be from upstate New York and like the NYGiants. I think you missed the point. A lot of folks in those southern states back then only had the Cowboys to watch on TV. At least my folks did and thats why they are fans and others. Had the Chargers been on TV they would of been Charger fans. There are 32 NFL teams in 20 states but there are 50 states. I guess people in those Non NFL states should just like HS and College football?

Kind of stereotypical, don't you think?

Like the stereotype that people from Virginia sleep with their sisters.
