Re: Us Against the world

If the whole offensive line was healthy I would like the 'Skins' chances a lot more b/c we will need to run the ball successfully to keep Brady and Co. off of the field. I do think our secondary matches up as well as anybody's in the NFL, it just unfortunate that we catch them without Rabach not being 100%. Let's just hope the need to score probably at least 4 TD's to have a chance will convince Gibbs to take the cuffs off the offense.

This is just a personal thing, but can we not refer to ourselves as a "nation," that is something a-hole Red Sox fans do.

Re: Us Against the world

I love your optimism, but you have to understand where all these writers and sports talk jocks are coming from. We have done nothing on offense that warrents even being talked about as a true threat in this game, not too mention our offensive line is hurting real bad. Clinton is missing that signature burst hes known for, which I think has alot to do with missing most practices and preseason, hes just not in game shape and its hurting this offense. Whats killing us the most about our injuries on the line is the need to have Cooley stay home and block, hes a vital part of this offense and really is a matchup problem, so without him as a threat it allows teams to stack the box. Campbell is playing great, hes made some mistakes, but far less than most of us expected him too in his first season as the starter, but if his recievers refuse to catch the ball its going to hamper his development. The sad thing is we have a reciever on our roster with a world of talent, but hes to childish to realize how much hes hurting his team by slacking, you all know who im talking about (B.Lloyd). The one faze of the game where we really dominate is defense, many people would have you believe the Pats defense is superior to ours, much the way there offense is, and they would be completely wrong. There defense has played some absolutely horrid offenses, meanwhile weve played the best passing offense two weeks in a row and shut them down (GB and DET.). The Skins definately have a shot in this game, a great one, but if Joe Gibbs refuses to allow his stars to take this gameover like he seems to be doing alot lately, the defenses efforts will be for not, because they cannot afford to get tired in this game.

Re: Us Against the world

The real kicker is that if the Pats do win they will come out in the post-game presser and all say "none of you thought we could do this" and "everyone talked about their defense" and "it was us against the world." They have the "everyone is out to get us/no one believes in us" thing patented. It is just kind of pathetic nowadays. It has crossed my mind, though, that one reason Bellicheat was so blatant with his spying so that he'd get caught, everyone would come down on them, and he could use the 'us against the world' card again even though they are clearly the best team in the league. Whatever, I don't like the Pats, I don't like their coach, and I don't like Brady. I don't care how good they are. Gregg Easterbrook summed it up pretty nicely, even though he (like so much of the football world) skipped right ahead to the Pats-Colts game next week and forgot that the Skins actually travel to NE on Sunday.

This game was one that even the most loyal Redskin fans chalked up as a possible defeat early on. Can we...will we win ? ...Our chances are as good as any team now...everyone knows what we are up against. The Pats better not take the Skins litely...This is going to be a close game, GO SKINS!!!!

I've never picked against the Skins ever....I think it's bad karma. I think we will win this game and the rest of our games and the superbowl and every superbowl after that forever.

Well I'm all for good karma, especially being Buddhist...am also a realist. There is no challenge in never losing....it makes you humble and can inspire positive change....that being said I would'nt mind if the Skins win all their remaining games and a super bowl this year... lol

Re: Us Against the world

I like being a 16.5 point underdog...no one..and i mean no one expects us to win. I think I like that. Now if we can just use this as motivation. We are 4 quarters from being undefeated and not everyone is picking the pats. I watched NFL Total Access last night on the NFL network and Jerry Ferrara, aka turtle from entourage, picked the skins to win. Not that he is anyone when it comes to picking games but it pleased me to see not everyone is against us on this one. If we can put together 4 solid quarters...all phases of the game...I like our chances. The pats havent seen a secondary like we bring to the table. and also fyi dont forget how sean taylor played against randy moss the last time he came to town with the vikings...pretty sure that was the game that randy moss pretty much quit on the vikings and left the sidelines for the locker room when the game was still up for grabs.
