Should Andy Reid Step Down?

I don't see how stepping down will help at this point. Both sons are going to jail, so stepping down now would be too little, too late. Beside, we're talking adult children here. If I was screwing up in my 20's I would NEVER expect my father to walk away from his responsibilities. It's time for the Reid boys to buck up and take responsibility for their actions.

I really feel bad for Reid.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him resign at the end of the season. It's really an unfortunate and tragic situation for him and his family.

Hell no. That fat loser should stay there and watch the rest of his career go down the toilet. It's so funny...three years ago dumbass jeff lurie said the eagels were the "gold standard" as to how you build a team. They sucked then, and they still suck.

Gee thanks. You provided the one post that the Eagles' boards will start riots over and accusing all Redskins fans of being jerks. I bet they'll even claim Sammy Baugh himself said this.





ANYWAYS...I believe he will and SHOULD step down and get his personal life in order. It's getting to the point where it has to be distracting him and possibly even his whole team. I hate the Eagles as a team, but personally, he needs to do what he needs to do and I don't wish his situation(s) on anyone.

I don't think one has anything to do with another.

Unfortunately as a NFL head coach these guys don't have much quality home time 7 months out of the year, and even the offseason has turned into a full time job. He probably has a much better handle on the team vs. his own family sadly enough.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Reid step down after the season. He'll be welcomed back into the NFL easily whenever he decides to return so it's not like he's giving up his dream job forever.

The whole issue about the NFL suspending doesn't make much sense to me. He's not guilty of any criminal behavior nor advocating criminal behavior. I might consider otherwise if there was a taped phone conversation in which Reid is saying "Sold anymore drugs to kids? Great! That's my boy. That's how you make your money. Keep it up. Just like I taught you."

If his personal life is affecting his professional life, then it doe become a problem. The same can be said for any job, whether if you are a policeman, lawyer, or football coach.

Personally, I have always liked Andy Reid. I have always hated the Eagles team, but I do respect Reid as a coach. I even have respect for McNabb. But, if this stuff truly is affecting his job (and I'd say it is,) then the best thing for him to do is either take another leave of absence or step down as head coach.

Just because his kids go around acting like thugs does not mean he should step down. I know people who had problems with their kids and they didn't quit their jobs. Andy Reid has one of 32 jobs in the whole world and he is going to quit cause his two grown kids are drug addicts? Hell no he shouldn't quit. Plus what is he going to do if he quits? Sit at home and think about what went wrong? Work is probably the best thing for the guy right now.

However he should make some sort of public statement ASAP.

I don't think the league should force him to step down, but wouldn't you seriously consider taking some sort of leave of absence if your kids were doing this kind of stuff? I know I would, especially if I was a millionaire. It seems like he's been pretty uninvolved in his kids' lives and perhaps he should become more involved.

I respect Reid as a coach, he could also be a great person, and I'm not intimately familiar with what kind of dad he has been or is. But, I still think that, if his financial situation permits it, he should start watching his kids like a hawk. Yes they are grown men, but that doesn't mean that his duties as a parent ended when they turned 18.

He already took time off during the off season to deal with this. What is he suppose to do now that they are behind bars? He can't do anything except go visit them.

Andy Reid should Step Up, and tell his kids to take responsibility for their actions, and learn from it.

Do your time, get clean, and get your life together. He should also stop giving them any money and make them get jobs. But he probably won't.

His sons are not children, so despite the personal problems, I don't see any legal issue, and not sure that the NFL has any business there, though they do have some morals clauses in their rules.

Tough situation, no doubt.
