Portis gets my vote hands down. Nice comeback to hopefully quiet his critics. The guy is a workhorse, he never gives up, and he just has a heart for the game. He throws his body into it with reckless abandon (remember the pre-season game last year when he got hurt? he wasn't gonna let anybody return that interception for a TD regardless of whether or not it was a pre-season game). I would also give a game ball to the left side of the O-line. They were money. 26 times they opened up holes for CP to dash through. Hold the comments about how bad the Jets D-line may have been, fact is our O-line on the left side exploited them and did what was needed.

It was nice to see Portis have one of those FU days to silence the critics.

He said he was ready to carry the team and he delivered. I say saddle him up and let's ride him all the way to the playoffs like in 2005.

I also noticed a lot more inside runs and less of the outside zone stuff that he doesn't like. Nice to see we're finally running plays he wants, but the question is why did it take so long??

My point is, I would have rewarded the line for just opening up crazy big gaps all day, but I can't ignore the fact that blitz pickup was non existant.

I dunno, I think 196 yards is an exceptional day.

I think we can both agree the running game was huge today.

I didn't think the pass pro was all that bad, it's certainly been worse in recent weeks.

If Portis keeps it up, we should be in for a fun rest of the season...

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Man on the day Portis finally breaks out....I'm going to go with Suisham as well, honestly. He made some tough kicks in a tough stadium....Its really close though, because Clinton Portis looked as good today as he has at any point in a Skins Uniform (save maybe the 5 game stretch in 05).

Great job for both of them and from Landry. Cooley was once again very solid, abeit unspectacular...but I'd rather have a guy like Cooley who busts his ass ever week and put up "good" numbers, than people be a flash in the pan for a game and not be seen the rest of the year.

Suisham he was money today 5/5 and I think all but one was over 40 yards.(I could be wrong) Portis finally got things going but since our offense still struggles Im glad we have a kicker we can rely on. Good game Suisham!

His kicks were: 46, 40, 40, 22 and 46 yards just for those who want to know.

Portis was phenomenal but I gotta give my game ball to Swish. The guy was beyond clutch.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Can we put the Jets WRs as an option (JK)? They dropped quite a few balls that hit them in the hands. I think that WRs are starting to hear landry's footsteps

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Clinton Portis had his first real game this season, we should be thankful he did, or we'd have lost to a 1-7 team. He seems to be a streaky player, and I hope we will be seeing more of this.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

I'd say offensive line but since that's not an option I'll go with my close second choice of Portis. It was awesome as hell to finally see the Portis of old showing some flashes hitting the creases or bursting into that next gear around the corner. Kendell is looking more and more a steal every game especially when they use him on the sweeps and counters.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Gotta go with Landry simply because I think after he hit their QB a couple times the throws became more rushed. Also, everytime a wr was in the secondary he had an eye out for #30 and #21 and I think it contributed to a lot of their drops and alligator hands.
Other than that, 4-4 from beyond 40 in NJ is a hell of a game.
