Yes Johnson just got out of trouble. But show me another team in the NFL that has an entire department dedicated to assisting players with off-field issues? Answer NONE, just the Cowboys. When the Bengals organization had all those troubles with the law, Jerry Jones was the only owner in the league who was proactive enough to create a department within the organization dedicated to assisting players with off-field issues no matter how minor.

So its a good thing when a team needs an entire department to assisting players with off-field issues?

Just because you don't see it in the headlines does not mean players don't have issues, unrelated to football, for every team in the league. Everybody has issues aside from thier job that required attention. Even you and I. It does not have to be a felonious act to justify intervention. It is just an added resource for the players to use in that organization is all.

And yeah you are right, but I dont think I said "never be a Cowboy", I for one realize Jerry Jones history for signing talented players of a questionable past (see Terry Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson and Terrell Owens). I just was not thrilled with the Tank signing at the time considering his past.

But at the time, Fergusen was gone for the year, and there was no good market for a free agent DT/NT. The Cowboys simply signed the best player available at that position at the time.

Besides, Johnson signed a deal similiar to that of Owens, in that, it is really a series of "one-year" contracts meaning that is he screws up we can release him without cap ramifications. So nothing to lose and everything to gain from the organization standpoint.
