Re: Redskins establish trust fund for Sean's daughter

ALL Chrities are open to the public and I would guess the Skins would encourage folks to help with.

The [Redskins] helped with Breast Cancer this year. Should Amputees be mad? Should Military wounded be mad? Should other groups be mad?

No I say

Mike... you are not fully getting my point. There are ALOT of good causes. I am saying that the Redskins and players have got that particular situation under control. The team should not focus on the fans donating to the little girl since they have done so much on that front... but continue with breast cancer, military, boys & girls clubs, and on, and on, and on...

Re: Redskins establish trust fund for Sean's daughter

So what are you saying, that they should have no fund at all? Or that Snyder should have just donated his money and not offered fans the opportunity to donate as well if they wanted to, instead said "We know you're all grieving for Sean and want to know how you can help. Well don't. I've got that covered. Just give to cancer research."

(by the way, kinda curious that the father is referred to as Pete, not Pedro, in that press release)

No, I am saying they should have a fund for ST's daughter... that Snyder should donate as much as he has... and that he should have opened it up to the players... but... ok..... this little girl will get a few mil... isn't that enough to make sure she gets a head start on life? I mean, when so many kids can't aford shoes to go to school.

I am saying for the fans, they should (and I believe do have) a Sean Taylor memorial fund... that will do good works for a long period of time in his name... to let his name live.

I knew I would get attacked... but it needs to be said. Snyder and the players will take care of this little girl with so much... they need to just do that in house and not take from other organizations.

I am not getting on people for sending the money to the fund... My complaint is that the Skins are asking for it. I think the money they will raise from the team and players around the league will be more than enough... and they didn't need to have this go public... but a memorial fund that helps some other good cause (which if I remember, is mentioned in another thread) IS something they should open to the public.

Let's not make this personal... I was stating an opinion.... and I do more than my share ... I just don't advertise it.

Did you read the statement on the team website?

No where in that statement do they ask for anything.

All they do is answer a question that I'm sure they have been getting hammered with since the poor guy died, indeed it's the same question that was raised in another thread.

Question: "Is there something someone can do if they want to help Sean's orphaned daughter?"

Answer:
The statement clearly says...
"Donations to The Sean Taylor Memorial Trust Fund may be made to..."

That's it...period...

They don't ask for a thing...

Donations can be made to:

The Sean Taylor Memorial Fund
c/o The Washington Redskins
21300 Redskins Park Drive
Ashburn, VA 20147

My understanding is this is completely separate and independant of the Sean Taylor Memorial Fund being set up by Gulliver Schools, Inc. which was mentioned in another thread...

Mods fell free to move this if it's in the wrong space...I did a board search so I know this news has not been mentioned yet.
The Dan Rooney of the NFC. Well Done Dan Snyder.
