I really hope we don't have a dome. Domes aren't football. I understand a team like Minnesota or Detroit having them because some games you simply couldn't play outside because it would be so could but we don't have that situation. I believe football should be played with the elements. Maybe a retractable roof so we could host a Superbowl.

I've heard rumors that it would be a retractable roof that would allow the field to be natural grass.

I don't Oakland has the Black Hole, Philly is tough, and Arrowhead is tough to play in too.

Other than the 2002 season, nobody's been intimidated to play at Oakland since the 1970's. And the Raiders just beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Those places, along with Philly are known to have pretty roudy fans, but besides that, I don't know if they really fit the "intimidating" label.

I know one thing, Fed Ex doesn't come anywhere near that label. Assemble yourself a better team that always wins at home, then your stadium is suddenly tough to play at.

The big thing about RFK was the decible level. I went to a game against the Giants in the 80's where Dexter Manley had 4 sacks during two three-and-out series. The poor Giants left offensive tackle had zero chance of hearing a snap count, so he lost any edge as Dexter blew by him play after play. RFK was a scary place for other teams during those days.

Soupmeister - they could have a field like the Arizona Cardinals that literally rolls in under the stadium from the outside, although I think Synder would do a retractable roof so he could open up the stadium on nice days. If a new stadium is built you can gurantee it will be a dome and most likely a retractable roof - having the Superbowl here is just too big a draw not to do it. One other thing though - I would hope that since Jerry Jones is putting 60 yard HDTV's in the new Dallas stadium that the Skins would try to do the same thing - the reply screens at Fed Ex are not too good.

As far as getting out of Fed Ex - I beleive the Skins have 20 years left on the bonds that were issued by Maryland but as many have said you could sell the land at Fed Ex for development (retail and office and not residential due to housing issues) and probably have more than enough to pay off the State of Maryland. Interestingly enough Synder may be waiting becuase I would bet that as the years go by the penalties to leave Fed Ex will go down - so maybe in 10 years the Skins will move back?

One other point to consider is if they moved back to the old RFK site you can be sure that Synder will have to more than make up for all the lost parking revenue he currently gets at Fed Ex - either through higher ticket prices or a bigger stadium. I don't know how many parking spaces there are at Fed Ex that he gets money from but it is a lot. I know Orange Parking tickets go for around $125 per ticket to give you an idea of how much is made on parking.

The New Giants stadium (with the Jets) is at 1.5 Bill right now .............in 10 years for Snyder to move it will be 3 Bill and as of now he does'nt have it.
