Maybe our own 85 will come back and play up to his potential. I mean he can't do much if they don't put him in the game and throw him the ball. I know I'm grasping.

Pipe dream.

Lloyd is as good as gone.

Re: Reche Caldwell and Keenan McCardell: 2008 Plans?

I am strongly AGAINST drafting a WR with our 1st or 2nd pick...maybe if we see some talent there in the later rounds for a big target. The reason is that WR's in this class are high risk-high reward whereas D-linemen and O-linemen (who we need more) are much safer picks. Our philosophy for this draft should be to build around the talented core we already have b/c we are young team on the cusp of the playoffs. We should reinforce the positions that are getting older and that need some talent upgrade (D-line, O-line, CB). The WR core we have is fine, minus 1 big target guy. If we can get an Andre Johnson or someone that'd be great but i don't think thats gonna be the case given our current cap status. Plus these late pick WR's tend to pan out b/c they are talented players with an injury or some question mark that teams didn't want to gamble on with an early pick.

I would say he is as good as gone if Gibbs stays on another year. I'm not a cap geek but I know if he cut it's a pretty big cap hit. Does the team want to eat that? I don't know.

They ate it for Arch, I don't see why they won't for Lloyd.

The Lloyd experiment is over and it was a giant failure. No sense in trying to make it work any longer. Looks like we'll eat about $4M, that's really not too bad.
