Ya, in this day and age you really need to be careful when confronting people that are clearly instigating trouble. I don't have issue that you popped that punk in the mouth, but you just need to be careful you don't get cut or capped when in the process of showing your manhood.

Like someone else said, I would have grabbed my wife and laughed at them saying something like "this is alllll mine", and walked on. However, I 100% understand where you're coming from. It's hard to keep your cool in those cases. Just remember, if you need to beat on everyone that is an asshole, then you'd get into fights constantly. Just cause they are dumb doesn't mean you stoop to their level.
Although, I gotta say, NO ONE touches my wife.
