Re: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Todd Collins Is So 1337

Some people actually seem to believe that Todd Collins is the answer at quarterback for this team. What I'd like to know from those people is, if Collins is truly "Tom Brady", or "should have been the starter all season", what should Washington do as a team, going forward?

I honestly want to know how Washington build's a team around a 36 year old quarterback, that has never been good enough to start in his 10+ year career? Personally, I think he looks like an old Chad Pennington. Saying he's "accurate" is a nice way of saying he has no arm strength, and he's as about as mobile as a statue.

I'd like to hear a little more than a knee jerk "OMg!! ToDd CoLlinZZzz!!" type reaction.

If Collins was Tom Brady, the Bills would have 4 Super Bowl titles and he wouldn't be our backup.

Campbell is also no Patrick Ramsey who will lose his job to an old QB from an injury, no matter how well Collins plays for the remainder of the season. Campbell opens up our passing game like we have not seen a QB do since Rypien. He will be back next season, with a bunch of 300-yard passing games under his belt and 12 more games than the beginning of 2007. He'll be better next year than this year, you could see him growing and maturing as a QB (except for the fumbling) every game.

Your reading way more into this than there is. When JC went down and Collins came I'm sure everyone was thinking Oh No not Collins. He came in and did what a back up is suppose to do and a little more. I don't think anyone is thinking Collins is our new starter only hoping that he can keep this up and get us a few more wins. I think its great that he had the chance to show what he can do in this system and also showed that JC might not have a total concept of how run AS system.

Hey, I'll give him credit. He really surprised me. He doesn't have much of an arm, but he's accurate and shows nice touch. Our ship might not be sunk just yet.

15 of 20 for 224 yards and 2 tds in a little over a half was something I would have NEVER expected. I am completely shocked. I'm not jumping on the collins bandwagon just yet, but he looked very accurate.

He tossed a bunch of lollipops to WIDE open receivers. He had a good game, but I'd like to see a repeat performance before I jump on his junk.

The only substantial pass where the receiver wasn't wide open was to Yoder, which was a good toss. Other than that, receivers were in spaces with no one around them. Whether it's a product of the Bears terrible coverage, or Collins knowing Saunders' system remains to be seen, but the Collins backers will be in for a shock if they think the quarterback can toss meatballs around every week.

He can get away with it the next two weeks though. We play some good rush defenses in the Giants and Vikings, but neither is anything special against the pass, at least not as good as the Bears are.

So, Collins connected with a lot of wide open receivers, which begs the question why did he? Did he make decisions and release quicker than JC? Or did the Bears change their scheme with him? Did the Bears stop covering because they were so intimidated by Saunder's student?

I'm thinking it's TC's quick decisions and release. That has been a knock on Campbell for a while. He can hold onto the ball too long.

If he keeps getting time like that to throw, look out! And I do think he understands the timing aspects of Saunders offense better than JC at this point for what it's worth. But, no I don't think Collins is better than JC or that there's some fatal flaw with JC or whatever...

Hey, Todd Collins is the poor man's Brady, biatch! Hail to the conquering hero!

Yeah I definitely agree with that. TC was so on target it wasn't even funny. I'm still in shock.

Todd Collins is the shit!

Seriously though, he had a great game. He was very accurate and seemed real comfortable in the pocket.

The running game should have all of us concerned. 31 yds in a game is pathetic.

And he did with a whopping 37 yards of rushing, or something like that. Ouch.

PS Cooley is just the man. On a hurt ankle, knocking safeties down like duck pins. COOOOOOOOLEY!
