I don't really get why everyone hates the pats. I mean they go out and play hard week in and week out and live by this "humble pie" thing that Belicheck is telling them. I personally think that the players in the NFL are payed to play their positions and they shouldn't just stop playing because they're creaming a team. Yes, it was a little too much of a blowout when they played us, but the skins are on the field to stop them, and we just didn't do our job out there.

I think we're cofusing personality with character, and the two aren't the same. Just because someone isn't likable or whatever, doesn't equate to bad character.
As someone pointed out, you rarely see the Pats doing all this dum shit after scoring or between plays. To me that speaks volumes about your character as a football player. |

Just like Matty said in another thread, it's all about the fact that basically he's NOT the Redskins and people get tired of seeing the same team every year.
If the Dolphins came back next year and won three Super Bowls, we'd all have the same hate for them as we do for the Pats.

You guys keep using the word "character" when comparing Gibbs to Belichick. I honestly believe people are using the words character and personality interchangably here.
Let's be fair, there probably aren't more than two or three head coaches in the entire NFL that have more character than Joe Gibbs, if such a thing is quantifyable? |
