I STRONGLY doubt that Shockey said anything disrespectful about ST given that he also went to the U and played on the same squad as him. Shockey may have his faults but he would never be disloyal to the memory of a Miami player.

I would bet that he said something to the effect of, "you're no Sean Taylor," which is very true. Shockey talks, that's his game, I don't care for it, but I don't want to see the guy break a fibula and require surgery.

Well, I also strongly doubt that Shockey was saying something disrespectful about ST. In fact, I doubt anyone believes he was saying something bad about him. What seems just as clear, though, is that he was in fact jawing with Doughty about ST. As others have suggested, he was most likely telling Reed that he's no ST, which is, to put it simply, uncool. We all know that Shockey likes getting into it with opponents when he's on the field, and we also know that he had tremendous respect for Sean and has admirably shown respect for Sean with his presence at the funeral and his ST--21 painted on his face. With this combination, he got up off the turf last night, saw Reed, and couldn't keep his mouth shut about ST. There was no doubt they were having an exchange, and that it clearly wasn't the back-slapping type of exchange, and as someone has pointed out, Shockey was pointing at his face while having that exchange. So, no, Shockey wasn't saying anything bad about ST, but there seems to be little doubt that he was talking ABOUT ST to Doughty, and wasn't saying nice things to Doughty.

I totally agree. I watched Taylor's funeral, and Shockey was one of the non-Redskins to attend out of respect for his brother from The U. At the end of the service, Shockey was caught on video with several other players and he was visibly crying.
