Luckily, HDCP is in the media. That is, each disc either has it or doesn't - they can't "add it in" later. I haven't heard of any stupidios incorporating it for HD-DVD yet.

Also, to be clear - your HDCP movies will play without HDCP, just not at HD resolutions. I think they get scaled down to 480p, but I'm not positive on that.
