McCants #85 inactive?

I was at the game looking for #85 in warmups and didn't see him dressed. Anyone know the story?

I did notice that Ade Jimoh was a captain!

McCants was inactive. Not an injury thing as far as I know, just a numbers thing. He hasn't been able to outperform Jacobs and Thrash in practice, apparently. At this point, he would need to do something special on special teams in practice to be activated, and I guess he hasn't done that, either.

I love McCants and am very dissapointed that he hasn't played well enough to earn game playing time. That said, he sort of played the from the TE position in Spurrier's offense, so basically, Cooley is like this year's McCants....the clutch 3rd down/goal-line receiver, and he's tied for the team lead with 2 receiving TD's already.

From what I've heard McCants has a real lacksadaisical approach to practice, unlike Gardner who is often the first one in and the last one out.

But Riggo and Gary Clark were lazy in practice as well, yet they played huge on Sundays. I understand the message that Gibbs wants to send but a more important message right now is a W

McCants had to be disgusted with the offseason acquistion of James Thrash. While I really like Thrash, his numbers dropped drastically over three years with the Eagles. Thrash is a help on punt/kick returns. McCants on the other hand was the leader with 6 TD's last year. I really think he allowed his feelings to interfere with his practice. To drop from #3 WR to #5WR and a pretty good performance in preseason it's unfortunate not to see him at all since Barrow is taking up a roster spot. Get Barrow's ass off of the active list. My problem with our receivers is we have only one WR whose big enough to dominate over top of a defender. McCants is big enough to make the big plays and deserves a chance.

I believe Gibbs is a smart man. And there is obviously a reason that McCants isn't suiting. I believe he dressed for 1 game so far this season. McCants has great hands and is a big target, but he must not be doing something???

Ade was a captain, probably of the special teams. Coles was there for the offense, I forget who was the defensive captain, and then there was Ade.

The irony is, he was dropping more than he was catching in training camp, and his focus just wasn't there. I don't know what the reasons are now for his lack of playing time, but all of the other receivers are very good practice players, so maybe that's the reason.

If McCants hasn't earned playing time he hasn't earned it. Quite simple if you ask me.

He hasn't earned Riggo or Gary Clark status just yet, besides those guys usually sat out because of injury, not because they were lazy. Clark always had the bad hammys and Riggo had the bad back.

I think he meant the active roster. He wants them to put him on the IR to open up a roster spot....but I'm not sure how this is supposed to help keep McCants off the inactive list for games....
