i cant throw in the towel on coles just yet,like some of you are doing.he was paid alot of money to come to washington but that was for steve spurriers' system and he had a real good year in it.i remember watching him play last year and thinking to myself ,"that was money well spent" ,he just needs to adjust to gibbs' system, like everyone else.plus he's hurt.

i would offer the raiders a late 4th or 5th round pick for jerry rice.the recievers on the team now could learn a whole lot from that man.he could also add a new wrinkle to 3rd and 5.

An old receiver is certainly not what this team needs. We need a kick off returner, and an offensive lineman.

Vegas was WONDERFUL! Thanx for asking. I returned home in sensory overload from watching all the NFL games and about 20-25 college football games and all the baseball games over the weekend and horse races from about 2 dozen tracks around the country. Oh, and did I mention that wagering was available on all of them?

For the record, I took the Skins to win and got 1.5 points because by game time the Bears had become the favorite. I also took the game UNDER 34 points. That was easy. And I parlayed those two bets and collected on everything. In addition, I took a first half get that the total score at halftime would be UNDER 18. That game was very good to me!!

I think Dockery could become something useful with the right coaching and the right usage. However, he is slow afoot and you cannot use him in a scheme that requires him to lead a runner downfield on a sweep He's not going to get there this season! My description of someone that slow is that he is likely to be rear-ended by a glacier!

But he is big and he obviously worked hard in the offeason to get rid of a lot of the baby-fat he carried last year so that tells me he has the desire and the "coachability" to improve. So, I don't want the Skins to get rid of him, but I cannot allow someone to say that Dockery belongs on a list of players that a Super Bowl aspirant would trade for to "put them over the top". Hopefully for the Skins he'll develop into that kind of player, but for now, that's just absurd.

Jerry Rice might be a good addition to the team as a role model for the young players regarding conditioning and regarding the "cerebral aspects" of the game. But Jerry Rice is not the pass receiver that he was even three years ago; he will not catch any 6 yard passes over the middle break one tqackle and run 65 yards to the end zone. Those days are behind him. I don't think the Skins have room to have a player like Rice who will demand to play - and complain if he doesn't - but whose skills are no longer what the team needs. For a memory of the recent past, let me say two words here:

rice would hate it here, he's pissed off cause he's not getting the ball... here he'd be the slowest WR on the team... if he wanted to teach, he has plenty of guys to mentor in oakland, that's just not his deal.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they had byes back during Gibbs' first run, I even remember one year where there was 2 byes per team

Good thing you post here under a screen name because you just disqualified yourself from any NFL GM job for all time.

The premise was you were going to trade for a Redskin player to put your team over the top to win a conference champinship or the Super Bowl. You thought you were one player short.

So you toss in the names McCants and Dockery? McCants is aptly named because he "mccants" even make the active roster this year; Dockery is "marginally proficient" when you describe him politely. Even his agent would not say he was "the guy you need to make it to the super Bowl next year".

And in case you haven't noticed, teams rarely trade for coaches. sometimes, they sign one away fro a team and have to give away draft choice compensation, but it isn't a trade.

I have to agree, Dockery is not very good. He is slow and makes many mental mistakes. But what is most dissapointing about Dockery is he soft.
For a man as big and strong as he is, he does not posses the killer instinct to level someone. In the years he has been here can you remember a single time when he has been shown on replay making pancake block? No.
Plus Ramsey and Cooley have not proven to be consistently good. They flash in spurts. They are not going to go to another team and make a diffrence enough to take another team to the playoffs or superbowl. They are not that good just yet.

Bugel seems to really like Dockery, call me crazy but I'll defer to Boss Hog on personnel decisions involving the line.

He's a 2nd year guy who wasn't even supposed to see the field much in his rookie year. I'd say he's progressing pretty well, he sure looks to be in better shape this year compared to last. Let's let the guy develop a bit more before we draft his replacement.
