Part of what makes Qwest so loud is the closeness to the field. Remember RFK? IMO that place seemed louder than FedEx even though it holds about half as many people. I really don't think any team "pipe's in" noise though some teams are slow to turn off the music when the visiting team breaks huddle or doesn't huddle.
As far as where the hate is coming from, it's gotta be frustrating to continually win your division and be a contender, yet never win your last postseason game. Given how weak their schedule was they would have had to pull a 16-0 to really get much national love. C'mon, Panthers and Falcons?
Plus, it's Seatle. They have always seemed to be an afterthought in professional sports. I was a big fan of Largent, but despite his achievements, do you ever hear his name mentioned among all-time great receivers?

I think it's loud, because after all Seattle is the home of Hendrix and Nirvana.
