Everybody needs to chill the hell out. I would bet that Snyder will do the right thing and give GW the job. GW is ready. And if we keep Saunders the offense will be just fine.

GW is another Richie Petitbone. They need Cam Cameron and offensive mind, forget about what happened in Miami.

That's officially the dumbest idea on this thread so far.

Who in the hell wants a guy who went 1-15 (and the 1 win was in OT against the abysmal Ravens) in his first season? Hardly a single player on that team had even a modicum of respect for Cameron. Most of them kept their mouths shut to avoid going off on a rant about the guy.

Would it be correct to assume that you're actually serious?

Exactly, I'm sure the three of them discussed this before Gibbs ever went public about the whole thing anyway. One announcement will follow the other. I think this season GW grew into his own skin a little bit. He feels a special connection to this team more than any place he's ever been.

Man this sucks! I just feel it's too soon for Joe Gibbs to step down. Please, let us not have another 15 years of suckville!

Greg Williams is more aggressive than Joe Gibbs, which is what I would like to see. Make Greg the Head coach and keep Saunders. They run both the Offense and the Defense anyway. Joe has just been a supervisor for 2 years. It still stinks though!

This is exactly 100% correct. As much as I love Joe Gibbs the man, he is just too conservative for today's NFL IMO. GW and AS would make a nice 1-2 combo. I hope things stay in house.

People also need to realize that the man is 67 years old. With the death of ST, I bet that it really made him realize that he needs to be with his family at this point of his life. His grandchild is sick with cancer, he's away from his wife/children and he has nothing to prove. I'm happy for Joe.

Like Parcells stated earlier this (coaching) is a young man's game. I just hope that we keep Williams or Saunders as HC. I do not want some college coach to come in and changed things in this organization. We need some continuity. I'm hearing that Synder might be tempted to contact Pete Carroll or some high profile name. This would be a huge mistake. ONCE AGAIN, YOU CAN NOT BLAME HIM, HE CAN NOT COACH FOREVER!!
I agree - I thought he would stick around in the front office. I'm disappointed he is leaving. I think this could be a huge blow.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

I actually feel a little bit better about this now that the prospect of GW taking over as head coach and Saunders staying on as OC. That really wouldn't be a bad combo at all if Snyder can pull it off.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

I just don't know how or why Cam Cammeron's name could be breathed out of someone's mouth right now. And haven't we had our fill of college coaches in the NFL?
