I think people are drinking way to early in the morning. You should wait until at least 10 or 11.

Let's review folks:

Steve Spurrier
Cam Cameron
Bobby Petrino
Nick Saban
Butch Davis
Rich Brooks
Dennis Erickson
Tommy Prothro
Lou Holtz
Bud Wilkinson
Dick MacPherson
Darryl Rogers
Frank Kush
Pete Carroll
Al Groh

The list probably goes on. All college coaches who failed at the professional level.

Jimmy Johnson and Dick Vermiel are the exceptions, not the rule.

Why anyone would suggest that we not only get a college coach, but that we get a college coach who has already PROVEN to be horrific at the professional level is beyond me.

I sure hope somebody was joking.

I don't understand it either! GW is the likely choice to keep some similance of continuity.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

Yeah someone from the outside pretty much seals the deal we would have a totally new staff.

I don't see us going in that direction. Williams takes over, Blache is the new official DC, and perhaps some other key guys stay as well. Minimal changes to the staff = minimal changes across the board and roster. That's definitely a good thing.

But honestly, I'm still in shock over Gibbs stepping down and I didn't see it coming at all, so I guess anything is possible at this point.

Whatever they do, they need to nip in the bud very quickly. The last thing these guys need during the offseason is another distraction. They really need to get away and reflect, not think about who the next head coach is.

I saw it in his eyes in that presser last night! Greg Williams will take over, mark my word! He cut a back end deal with Snyder two years ago to be the successor. Its a sad day, but I feel good about Greg.

Well, at least there is one benefit.

New coaches get an extra mini-camp.

That's stretching for a silver lining.

What about a new team president?
If we don't hire someone else will all the personnel decisions fall on the shoulders of Danny and Vinny, with the new HC making some suggestions here and there?
That's a thought that scares the hell out of me.

100% Agreed. A new GM must be first priority or we are in for another long 15 years.

I hope as 'special advisor' the first piece of advice he gives is to hire Floyd Reese or figure out a way to pry Scott Pioli from New England..
