The scary thing is that we were hell-bent on drafting CB with our pick 1st round pick after Smoot departed to Minnesota. Had Rogers and Antrel Rolle been selected before PacMan, we very well could have drafted this waste of life. I hope Goodell drops the hammer and suspends him for another year.

BTW, had Smoot stayed, both DeMarcus Ware AND Shawne Merriman were still on the board when we took Rogers. Probably a good case where taking the best player available would have worked out better than filling the immediate need at CB.

In our defense, Rogers, Rolle, and Jones were listed on most boards as better than Ware and Merriman. Moreover, perhaps we did go with the "best player available" model and simply misjudged those players' respective abilities.
