Re: Len Pastabelly on Gibbs' Retirement: "Just An Ordinary Joe"
read this article FOXSports.com
Thats from today, the guys says the Eagles are the NFLs best fans and are legendary, and defends his answer by saying they are true fans for beating up the Redskins Chief. That article is just ignorant writing from someoen that is a fan of that team. I dont agree with everything in LPs article but I agree with some of it. Thats how writing an opinion column works, sometimes you agree with them sometimes you dont. Why is he a fat as*hole because you dotn agree with his opinion. I dont think its irrational to think that fans on this site are a little biased in their love for the skins, which is fine, but Im pretty sure professional writers that you support would read this site and think some of us are crazy for our opinions and that we dotn know anything. Whys everyone so eager to bash other peoples opinions recently, especially with the whole head coach thing. Wheres the 'knowledgable discussion'. I read this site recently and I feel like its second graders fighting saying synders a poopie head and I dont like him, or Lenny P is an ass and is fat. Theres great comments where someone took the time to list all the before and after players with Gibbs, then other where people just say hes a prick and they dont want to read the article.

Re: Len Pastabelly on Gibbs' Retirement: "Just An Ordinary Joe"
see look, even the most recent post before mine is our main mod just saying hes a jackass. Even if you disagree with everything the article said and hate the tact that he uses, he still put a lot of facts in there, showed data, listed other coaches ages, etc. He wrote the article in the same way we expect people on this site to write, to put their opinion and then back it up. So you dont agree, whatever, put some facts why you dont agree. Matty you can call me out of line if you want but Ive been on this site for years and Im tired of reading crap like this. I come on here because everyone puts up stats and facts and then we interupt them differently and discuss. Daseal tried to prove a point and he just got bashed for it along with Lenny P, whats the point...

Says who? Who made the call to let players have their own workout program this past offseason. Who made the call to go light on practices down the stretch this year because the team was so emotionally spent?

And Im assuming Gibbs made the call, but it did take three years of articles bashing portis and taylor for wokring out in miami, and players complaining they were tired and were sore for the games and 3 years into his coaching to make those changes. but either way, he made the change, and it was a good thing, the players responded well. im agreeing with you. but that one comment by him doesnt make him a fat asshole that doesnt know anything about sports. dotn get me wrong, i dont know the guy or care, but people are responding in similar ways to people on the board. the webpage isnt redskinsconsensus.com, as soon as someone has a different opinion from the mob he gets jumped on or someone says lock the stupid thread. I guess everyone is just on edge with the coaching situation. were not even in teh official off season and we are already going crazy! lol, september cant come soon enough. im flying to phoenix on thursday, damn how i wish i was watching our boys play the pats...

I'm staying out of the rest of this conversation, because I don't want to say more about one of my colleagues.
However, it still astounds me that this article gets so much play here yet the John Clayton piece written on the same day (or day after) was virtually ignored.

Re: Len Pastabelly on Gibbs' Retirement: "Just An Ordinary Joe"
my comment had nothing to do with Matty, I just picked on him because I knew he had tough skin and could deal with it. I just want people to give more real comments and not just bash people for no reason

Well, I did bash him for a reason. I think any heat Lenny P. takes is pretty well deserved.

Re: Len Pastabelly on Gibbs' Retirement: "Just An Ordinary Joe"
I did not read the article, as I have wasted my time in the past with his usual bombast. HOWEVER, on behalf of "an ordinary Joe" I would like to offer to Len, just an ordinary ..........GO F..... YOURSELF!

Re: Len Pastabelly on Gibbs' Retirement: "Just An Ordinary Joe"
It's interesting that he blasted the Falcons because he didn't get the scoop. I had heard that the reason he was down on Gibbs and the Redskins was that Cerrato had been a source for him, but didn't come through with the Gibbs Returns in 2004. Real professional.
And SmootSmack, I have always made a distinction between people I consider to be "colleagues" and people who happen to work in the same building as me. You should try it. And lastly, this quote from that Fox Sports piece on the Eagles fans is really cute: In 1983 Chief Zee, the unofficial Redskins mascot, went to Philadelphia’s Veterans Stadium for a “Monday Night Football” game dressed in full Indian regalia. He left stripped to his underwear, with a smashed eye and a broken leg. The following season, the Eagles invited him back to apologize. Eagles fans abused him again. One old lady told him he had a lot of nerve going up there, threw her drink in his face and said, “We mugged the guy who dressed like that last year!” A smashed eye and a broken leg. I wonder how many times they used the n-word while they were showing their civic pride by beating a man half to death? Absolute scum.
