Anyhow, to make it as clear as possible. What I was saying was that in the past several weeks we've had some really crappy, stupid threads (and not because of the opinions, but the lack of any thought behind those opinions)-not coincidentally I think it all began with the "LaVar in 2008" thread-and Sally Jenkins' crappy article fits right into this trend of dumb threads we've seen here lately. But Sally is a paid professional so you would think she would execute at a higher level.

Here I suppose not so much should be expected. As much as we try to ensure that this is "Discussion for the Knowledgeable Fan" too many reduce it (to steal a phrase from BleedBurgundy) to "Drivel for the Mindless Dolt."

To be sure, we have some great members on this site. But then we have others who think it's their god given right to post whatever idiocies fall out their brain.
