Why would he hate Gibbs or the Skins for saying he rather have Moss and want to develop draftees instead of overpriced FAs? I agree with Irish. Chad would rock here, but to get him we would have to give up some serious coin on top of some top notch draft selections. Can we please focus on building a consistent winner in DC? Instead of the knockout homerun with some explosive FA's, go for the saner approach of building a team with draft picks and maybe lower tie FA's. The high priced FA's of Snyder have been mostly mediocre or just plain busts. Also, when did the great Chad Johnson get the Bengals to the playoffs much less the SB? Carson Palmer has a rocket arm like JC so it is not like he doesn't have a QB. The answer is the Bumbling Bengals stink. We have too many glaring deficiencies with regards to many postions as well as depth in those positions. Chad Johnson most likely will just guarantee more sellouts for Mr. Snyder than getting him a Lombardi Trophy. |

Just what we need another WR, how about O-linemen? Personally I think it's a joke to even consider bringing him in here. A self serving loudmouth is the last thing we need. Our WR's will be huge in this new system if Campbell can get them the ball, but if he can't find Moss or El, he ain't gonna find BIG TIME Chad Johnson either. Absolutely no reason to even be considering this move! |

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
Very agreeable, Moss has had one good year in the last 4? CJ is a little younger, and puts up more consistent numbers.

Having him on our squad would instantly accelerate the development of JC or make any other QB at the time Pro Bowl worthy. Randy Moss ALL day!

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
He's under contract and not complaining about money. He's sick of losing and has publicly said that he doesn't like being a fall guy for their losing. I like his antics, when he's winning. It would probably cost us a 1st and 3rd though.
As for Mooch and TO, the only person TO has played for and not pissed off is Jerry Jones. I think it's unfair to say that Mooch couldn't get along with 85.

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
Maybe it was SS who said it, or it was someone else.
I'd love to have either of them here, but why not sign Moss if he's released rather than TRADE for CJ? That being said, I too, would love CJ being here. I agree what someone said above about people with some character issues. I DO enjoy a team that has few problems, but sometimes it's a good idea to take a chance on someone who's had issues in the past. Lloyd comes to mind, but he was a bust before he even came here.

Yo, thread police, take a second to realize that there's a very significant piece of news attached to this thread (JLC's blog entry) that makes it very worthy of it's own thread.
We now have JLC tying Danny and Vinny to a strong interest in Chad. That's threadworthy.

Besides, the discussion changes dramatically when you have legit news sources tying Snyder to Chad than when you simply have fan speculation.

Also one more thing, Mods: Why do we have to wait 30 seconds between searches? Is this a VBulliten thing? I think the main reason a lot of guys don't use the search tool around here is the ability to only complete 2 searches per minute. Plus some poeple have trouble SPILLING on this site. Anyway back to topic. If its between drafting Limas Sweed and trading for Chad Johnson I'll trade for Chad Johnson. Hell maybe we could throw in S. Moss and a 2nd round pick instead of giving away a first. The thing that a lot of us are going to learn real soon is that this is the beginning to a new era and players that were inexpendible before are now expendible. Guys like Clinton Portis and S. Moss are going to get long looks this offseason, though I doubt anything will happen with Portis.
