There is a very persistent story out there that Johnson and Hue Jackson got into fisticuffs in the locker room at halftime of the Bengals' playoff loss to the Steelers (the game where Carson Plamer had to be carried off in the 1st quarter) because Johnson didn't think his number was being called enough. There is also a persistent story that when Marvin Lewis brok up the altercation, Lewis caught a punch - - that was "an accident".


Even if that story is "embellished a bit", I think it would give one reason to suspect that ocho cinquo might not be named "teammate of the decade".

I thought it was TJ and Hue? You could be right though.

Somewhat off-topic, I think the Bengals made a mistake in not firing Marvin Lewis. He seems to have lost that team and I just don't think he's the right fit for them.

Agree Lewis seems to have lost the Bengals. I think he's not getting fired for economic reasons. The Bengals just don't like to pay people who don't work for them.

That was what I was referring to in my earlier post (#45) in this thread. I didn't know it came to blows though.

Consider that this was during Cincy's best season w/him as I recall. They were an up & coming team but seemed to regress since then.
