LOL. Anyone think Shottenheimer would have eventually gotten us to a SB?

Too funny. I actually feel a little sorry for JF right about now. DS is probably not on his xmas card list.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach

Ironically enough, I heard the news on the sports ticker in Madden 08 after finishing a game as the skins. I wasn't sure if it was real or just some Madden commentary glitch...

I'm excited about this, I think this is exactly what the skins need - a first time head coach with positive feedback from the league. I wasn't looking forward to someone that had been fired from somewhere else (Gregg Williams included).

This combined with a new Director of player personnel (which hasn't gotten that much press here for some reason) leads me to believe that although we may have a rough first couple seasons, the long term outlook is bright.

My only problem with it is losing G. Williams and Al Saunders. Gregg was probably gone after not getting the nod, but keeping Al Saunders could have been huge for us. Hopefully the new OC will be someone with considerable experience to take some of the workload off of Zorn.

Jim Zorn was smart, heady player and tremendous competitor. He never gave up on plays and was one of the best scramblers ever. I think it's smart for the Skins to grab one of the best young coaches in the league . . .

Oh screw it! If nobody is going to jump 100% on the Zorn bandwagon, then I will! I'm all in. He's got my support, 100%! What were we saying about the syllable thing? Huh? Joe Gibbs? Jim Zorn? Put this in writing today, February 9, 2008. I, Skinsguy, hereby swear that Jim Zorn will be the next great head coach of the Washington Redskins. Put in a sig, I don't care! I'm excited and ready for next season!

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach

As much as I have trashed Danny Boy in this forum and to people around me every chance I get, I have to admit that this was the best decision he could have made in my opinion.

He took a chance on a new, talented assistant coach who seems to have a great background and a lot of promise. Maybe Zorn will be Gibbs 2.0.

Now Danny Boy can get back to doing what he does best: play with the salary cap, estrange our own free agents, and go sign other team's free agents for too much money.

Okay, just listened to Mort's report on it.

Last time a QB coach went to HC, Andy Reid.

Other former Holmgren QB coaches who are now head coaches? Gruden

couple of good names. Hopefully the pedigree holds.

I dont know anything about Zorn so I can't hate him. At least all those haters crying "Retread" can keep their trap shut now.
