Re: Petitbon "hired" before Gibbs
The article understates slightly what happened. Gibbs was told that Petitbon WAS going to be the DC no matter what and Gibbs could take it or leave it. By telling the Post he "strongly suggested" the idea, he protected Gibbs' authoritie and avoided the perception that he was being heavy handed. Don't believe everything that you read.
The one truly jaw-dropping revelation in the story is that the Redskins led the league in pass defense in 1980. I never would have guessed that in a million years.

Re: Petitbon "hired" before Gibbs
is Danny going to give Zorn the same leash that was afforded to Gibbs the first time around? its not like he (or anyone, ever) was an instant hall of famer....

Re: Petitbon "hired" before Gibbs
I think Snyder will give Zorn a little leeway, but I really don't think he'll need it. Unlike Gibbs, he still has some veteran coaches around to help him. And, I just can't see Zorn starting 0-5.

Re: Petitbon "hired" before Gibbs
i don't necessarily agree with this. took over an aging team, and was given all of one season to win?
