Rogers is banged up, Springs is getting long in the tooth. After that it's Fred Smoot, and behind him you've got nothing but journeymen/backups.

cause that's three guys that can start and you'd be okay, two of which will still be here next year. meanwhile at safety you've got a great starter and a backup, that while better than arch deluxe, shouldn't be on the field if possible.

a guy like kenny phillips gives you a LOT more freedom as far as corner talent, and also probably won't spend much time on the bench (which seems to be a theme with our cbs and moss).

db depth is an issue, but macklin is a good #4, even though he didn't see the field last year.
