Jon Jansen Restructures
Looks like he's agreed to the vet min
Seriously though, according to this he's restructured his 2008 salary down from around $5 million to $730,000 NFL Players Association - Resources - Active Player Search Haven't really had a chance to look at the overall cap ramifications. I'll leave that to the brainiacs

Re: Jon Jansen Restructures
Talk about a guy who never complains just comes in and does his job (when he is healthy) I will give it 5 minutes before Schneed fills us in with all his cap wisdom

Ethan Albright was resigned as well, but has little to no effect on the cap. His cap number bumps another guy out of the top 51, and the difference between his cap figure and the 52nd player's is minimal.

Re: Jon Jansen Restructures
well I was wrong and that's good, .8 over sounds great. I still see a lot of potential savings and it seems that media critics have finally learned to shutup because we always find a way to bring down our numbers.

Re: Jon Jansen Restructures
Right now, Cartwright is a free agent, thus resigning him would be a hit to our cap figures. Signing him would move us further into the red.
Right now, the 51st man on our team counts $370K against the cap. For simplicity's sake, let's say we resign Rock for a one year deal worth $1.0 million. His signing would bump the 51st man out of the top 51, reducing our cap by $370K. He would then be added at $1.0 million. So the net effect of signing him, in this example, would be a hit of $630K. Obviously if he signs with us for more money than that, the hit would be worse. Rumors from JLC on his blog have indicated that the Skins may let him walk. Provided that they have a decent fallback option for kick returning and special teams, this could be a decent move. Our 3rd RB doesn't see the field often, so seeing him leave from a RB standpoint is really no big deal. But the staff will need to be cognizant of replacing his special teams leadership if they decide to let him go.

Re: Jon Jansen Restructures
Betts will probably go back to returning kicks if Rock leaves.
