Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
Jeff George by far. Imagine how good we would've been if we kept B.Johnson for a couple more years?

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
Arch no doubt. But I give the Skins credit for cutting their losses. Somehow they convinced the Bears to take Arch (who was surely going to be cut) AND pay like $5M of his remaining signing bonus. A real coup.
I think Bruce Smith and Trotter deserve special mention here too. |

Quote:
2) Steve Spurrier 3) Deion Sanders 4) Brandon Lloyd 5) Lavernaeus Coles ( we traded a 1st and a 3rd for a "franchise player, only to trade him back to NY and get Santana Moss, who we neglected to draft and we took Rod "50-50" Gardner). 6) Jeremiah Trotter 7) Dana Stubblefield 8) Adam Archuleta 9) Trung Candidate 10) Jeff George

Tony Banks might have been the worst qb I ever saw play.

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
Maybe so, but that QB did take over for Jeff George and guided us to an 8-8 record that year. I may be the only one here but if we would have kept Marty and that team, we would have ben a contender the next year. I do not think that Banks was a pro-bowl QB but he was a lot better IMO than Jeff George. I do however agree that we would have ben even better if we kept Brad Johnson...

Archuleta more than Lloyd because of the that secret expose that was done by an unnamed player at Redskin Park. I only thought of this guy when it happened.
He was paid large amounts of money to suck, those hurt the worst.

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
Steve "Spurious". It was especiallly idiotic because we already had a good and proven coach here. Firing Marty for a college coach had to be the dumbest move in Redskins history.

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
This is a tough one. I would say George was the most costly in terms of it cost us games. The Skins were better with Johnson. Sanders was the most embarrassing as he just came in took the money and ran. Plus I have and always will hate that guy even when he was in the Skins uniform. Arch was the worst in terms of just plain not doing anything. He by far contributed the least to the team. Bruce Smith never really did much except a 3rd down pass rush, but everyone knew his best years were behind him. So not too much should have been expected, despite what he was paid.
Since I have to pick just one I went with Sanders just because I hate him. |

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
I'm gonna go with Archuleta, he got paid like a king and he made our defense absolutely horrible in '06. The bright side is that we took a completely worthless player and got the Bears to give us a draft pick for him in addition to taking his salary. He even sucked for the Bears last season too.

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
I gotta go with Duckett. We didn't really need him, but what's worse is that we didn't use him when we got him anyway. I don't really know what happened there. He wasn't a malcontent or anything like that. For whatever reason it just didn't work out.
If I were to add an "other" I might have to go with David Patten.

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
Deion actually did ok...even though he stole millions from us. Bruce Smith was average as well. Stubblefield actually did ok, as well. Not good, ok.
BL has to be #1. No production, big contract, and cost us draft picks. Maybe the worst move by any team for the last 5 years. AA has to be a close 2nd. Big contract and couldn't even earn a starting job. That's why GW's is the man. Doesn't matter how much you make, if you don't earn your starting job than you don't get it. TJ Duckett can play, but the trade was horrible. No doubt about it. Horrible. |

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?
I forgot about Spurrier.
We could have given him the talent of the Patriots Super Bowl teams and he still would have stunk it up. He's got my vote. He didn't cost us draft picks unless you count the dumbass picks he made, he just wasted time of my life!
