as far as rogers vs him... rogers is clearly a much better player, but he's also much more expensive and stays on the field for shorter periods of time, while also costing us a higher pick for an old guy.

NT requires you to protect both A gaps. Robertson is a one-gap DT which is perfect for that under DT spot in our defense. So in theory NT is a horrible fit for a guy like Robertson. In my opinion he should be playing end in that system but he was pretty much screwed the day Mangini came in and said, "Hey we're going to run a 3-4."

I agree that Rogers is the better player but Robertson is younger and I believe that with restructuring his contract (which will inintially be without signing bonus) he'll be cheaper for us.

The Jets will have an easier time at NT with a space eater like Jenkins so the Jets got what they wanted. I think if we get Robertson that you'll be pleasantly surprised. Blache and co., usually do a good job at getting the most out of underachievers.

Nevertheless I respect your opinion considering that you're definately one of the more knowledgeable posters around here.
