This quote is from Rock yesterday March 6, in his interview on Redskin.com, sounded to me at the time when I read the article he was getting anxious to get something done. I'm real glad it worked out. Rock has turned into a solid ball player and team leader. It would be nice to see him finish his career hopefully as a Redskin.

Cartwright Plays 'Waiting Game'

"I think Drew has talked to a couple teams, but no one has really [offered] anything, so for now we're waiting to see what happens," Cartwright said. "I know the market is really slow right now. We're just going to play it by ear and see what happens."

Asked if he enjoyed the free agency process, Cartwright admitted that it was "a little frustrating" to have to watch and wait.


"I would have hoped something would have happened by now, but it hasn't," he said. "It's part of the business. I'm sure something will happen, hopefully soon.


"The big-name [free agents] go high, so you just sit back and play the waiting game."


Cartwright reiterated that he would like to stay with the Redskins.


"I would love to finish my career as a Washington Redskin, but ultimately that's not up to me," he said. "I love the organization, I love the fans and I would love to be here."
