Re: According to Jay Glazer a HUGE Trade is in the works

the only way the hall trade works is if we trade our first (possibly our 3rd since we probably got a comp pick coming) for their 2nd and hall (which isn't really much value). then we change his contract to add a price matching clause and let him play out what he has now.

that way, if he's a cancer, he's on a cheap contract and very easy to cut, but if he plays well, he can be kept for fair market value.

that's the only way i'd really be thumbs up about that deal. everyone knows no one is going to give up a 1st for him. the market's already spoken on that.

thatguy, on talent alone, what do you think of Hall. strictly as a player?

not champ bailey, but there's no doubting he has talent. his size really hurts him trying to cover TO or moss, but his speed really helps on other guys (like santanna or a steve smith type).

he can play, and if his attitude wasn't such trash, i'd have no problems trading a first and signing a new deal, but that's not the reality.

i mean, unless cromartie or some such falls all the way to #21, even considering future success, hall is the safer pick (And he's only 24).

Do you not think it is plausable if we could trade carlos rodgers and our 3rd round pick to get D. Hall, it seems like the contracts could just switch teams, and it wouldn't hurt us, only help us, especially if we get ou 3rd round comp. pick

I don't think anyone would be against that. Rogers was an underachiever before he suffered a devastating knee injury, and Hall is a pro-bowl caliber player. But the Falcons would be absolutely insane to make that move, unless they are going to cut Hall anyway and that's the best they can get. But I would think a second at this point would probably have more value than Rogers and a low third.

Horrible reporting and discussion.

We hated the feeling of being in suspense over the new coach, now we have to torture ourselves for weeks thinking about a trade that we don't know will happen or if we're even involved.

Yeah, the offseason is great!

The Miami Herald reports Jason Taylor would like to be traded this offseason.
The Herald suggests that Miami's failure to land free agent OLB Calvin Pace makes a Taylor trade less likely, but a draft-day deal could happen if they pick UVA OLB/DE Chris Long No. 1 overall. Taylor reportedly wants to play on a contender. In the end, the odds seemingly favor a trade being worked out.
Before the riots start, I'm NOT saying we're involved, only this could be the "huge" trade being speculated.

hall was right to criticize his coach, and was proven to be right. he said the coach would walk through the locker room and not say nothinggggg

I don't think a player should EVER publicly call out a coach. If a player has beef with his coach, he should approach him in private and express his problems in a respectful manner.

Sheriff, I almost totally agree with you but we don't know if he did try to approach him in private. I would generally give the coach the benefit of the doubt but remember this is the same coach who quit on his team 13 games into his first season. Maybe Petrino was horrible with the players (as reported) and maybe he deserved to be called out. I hear what you're saying and in general, I think a player shouldn't call out his coach but Petrino was kind of a jack-ass who also quit on his team when the going was tough.

im old school, and totally agree. with that out of the way, i think gtripp has some sort of personal thing against Hall. there is no way Carlos Rogers name should be in the same sentence with Hall. all the pro bowl, popularity bull crap aside. Hall is as close to a #1 corner as there is. to me, Rogers is nothing more then a nickle back. with Hall along side of Shawn Springs, the skins will be a better team. anyone care to argue about that?

Re: According to Jay Glazer a HUGE Trade is in the works

I know I just added a post to the total, but it's amazing how many posts a thread about Jay Glazier announcing that there will be a trade in the NFL at some point this offseason has generated. Imagine if Jay had given us actual information...
