I thought there were programs in the NFL, and mentors on the teams, who were supposed to help these college kids with the transition to "fame and fortune?" |

I believe that people are allowed mistakes and screw ups, but the way Virginia deals with alcohol is crazy. When I was 20 I got possession of alcohol, my first offense ever. This has nothing to do with DUI or anything of the sort, simply possession. They wanted to put me in jail for a month all but 10 days got suspended, and not even give me a restricted license so I could go to work and school. Where I live that means I CANT work or get to school. all but 10 days, got suspended. Obviously I appealed and got a better ruling. During this time I did a lot of research on these type of things, and I did a report on how MADD inflates their statistics for my VASAP class. I'm not trying to say I agree with drunk driving, but all those "drunk driving" numbers you see means if a guy has a 6 pack in the trunk, he's totally sober, and someone runs into him who is also totally sober, MADD considers that alcohol related. |

Ugh, I have some nasty spy-ware I accidentally clicked OK when typing on AIM to some spyware thing. Ad-aware isn't catching it, don't click the links!

Matty, that would be Sublime...if I'm not mistaken the lead singer died of a heroin overdose a few years back right?
Does anyone know what the BAC was? I don't know about Virginia, but I know in Maryland just a couple of beers can put you legally over the limit.

Daseal, try 'spybot search and destroy'. I run adaware and spybot and it seems to keep my computer pretty clean.

My grandfather had the first registered winery in the state of VA and my girlfriend works at another winery, yet I've never had an alcoholic drink in my life. I'm 22. I don't ever intend to, either. I don't have anything against other people drinking, as long as it doesn't affect others negatively.
My biggest problem with 66, and NoVa roads in general, is the fluctuation in speeds. Ticks me off.

I worked at Progressive Insurance for about a year handling medical claims and I saw quite a few drinking and driving accidents and a few deaths.
It was always really depressing to have to call the family of some 17 year old kid who got behind the wheel loaded and got killed. To think that someone's son or daughter was gone in an instant because of one night of poor judgement is really sad. But then there were the a-holes with multiple DWI's on their records and they just got in another accident, blew some crazy number way over the legal limit like a .25, and they don't understand when I tell them their claim is denied because they BROKE THE LAW. |

I was rear ended by a SOBER women in a huge SUV that was on her F-ing CELL phone. She never hit her brakes, totaled my car. Could have killed me.
I also have read in the paper about a guy that crossed the middle yellow line and killed someone. A movie happened to be playing in his dashboard DVD screen when the cops showed up and the cops tried to increase the chareg because he was watching a movie. He claimed in court that he wes not watchin it, that it was just on. The judge or jury beleived him and he was only charged with the involuntary manslaughter charge. |
