This a typical Snyderatto draft. Offense offense offense. Snyderatto has never met a skill position player he did not want to get. This is the only reason i do not like Snyderatto as our GM. I do not dislike them, it is a diffrence in philosophy.
I prefer we draft Lineman. It is simple reasoning, there more people on this planet that are the size of a skill position player. There are less 6'6" 300 pound star athletes on this planet. So getting talented and skilled linemen is more difficult because there are less of them in our population.

The Redskins built their dynasty of the 80's and early 90's on strong lines. Our lines were big and deep.
Our WR's on the other hand, other than 1st round pick Art Monk, were nobodys Charlie Brown, Alvin Garret, Ricky Sanders, Virgil Seay.

You make a great point. No doubt we passed up a helluva player in Calais Campbell, but I'm okay with it. He may make us look stupid by passing him up, well see.

But isn't that what the draft is really all about? We'll see....

I just wish the Redskins (Snyderatto) would look at our Draft History a little more. We have not taken a lineman high (1st round) in the draft since 2000 when we took Samuels. We have not taken a defensive lineman high in the draft since 1997 when we took Kennard Lang. There is a reason our lines are old and thin. We have done nothing but draft skill position players high in the draft for the last 8 years. How about changing it up?

And when is the last time we drafted a WR in the first round?01 and 03. You can see a distinction in Snyderatto's evolution. He let Spurrier dictate who he wanted, and it bit him in the ass, with us as fans. Two WR's is not that bad of a pick. Everyone we have on D isn't exactally retiring. We need a cb, we need a ss, and line help. I understand to an extent where they are coming from. At those late picks, you cannot pass up a first rounder thats slipped THAT far. I know the rest of the draft is going to be OL and defense.

Yeah, while I'm a lil upset we didn't get a pass rusher one thing is certain. We have bodies on O. Guys that can get first downs and TD's in the redzone. Its been awhile, and that is exciting. But if we don't see a vast improvement on O, there will be a lot of unhappy skins fans.

It seems like in picking two WR's the front office is hoping one pans out, which seems like they are not all that confident in thier drafting ability.

Doh! I read the poll wrong... I thought it was asking for best pick of the draft, not biggest wtf. Retract my vote for Fred! He's the best pick, imo.

There are still some talented guys in the secondary left: CB Justin King from Penn State, CB Charles Godfrey whom we were interested in, and safeties: Reggie Smith from Oklahoma, DaJuan Morgan from NC State, and Thomas DeCoud from Cali. From a value standpoint, the secondary prospects are looking pretty good for our first pick tomorrow.

I am surprised there is no thread that has the details of this trade we pulled off. Some of us were working and don't have all the details...I came here first to get all the answers, and so far I don't have many. (unless of course I want to read through the 50 pages of this thread...ain't gonna happen)

We traded our 1st, 3rd and 5th to ATL for their 34th and 48th picks in the 2nd and their 4th.

That's a good deal for us considering we seemed to have gotten who we were targeting anyway.
Does anyone know why we selected 2 wr's? Or was this just a case of best player available at the time (kelly)?

It was, it was an excellent trade, but the results were horrible. Being a slave to the BPA no matter what is a recipie for failure. Honestly I'm mad at myself for putting so much trust into Cerrato and Snyder.
