Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
I'm all about giving a guy a second chance. Obviously, we'd want to do some investigating into some of these incidents (which sometimes the skins aren't too good at). I'd say yes w/ due dilegence, low risk, and a short leash. This guy doesn't appear to be in Adam Jones' league.

I'd rather eat a poo salad than see the Skins sign Thurman. This guy has burned through his second, third, and fourth chances.

THis seems like a low risk signing, if they brought him in and he was in good shape and the FO felt he could help us I wouldn't be upset with this move. The beauty with the NFL is we could cut him if he did even the slightest thing wrong.

It's amazing what some people are willing to look past.
This guy is a bum. Let someone else take a chance. |

Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
I amazed at some people too, prob not the same ones as you though. The Pats took a so called bad apple last year "Randy Moss" and it turned out great. The guys got made some questionable decisions, he paid the price. Bring him into camp with an agreement at one little mis step and he's gone. And see if he can turn it around... If he can't cut him, no harm... no foul. He doesn't need to be a boy scout.

Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
Let's not compare Thurman to Randy Moss. There is no comparison.
- Moss has not failed/failed to show up for any drug tests. - Moss has only been convicted of a misdeamenor traffic violation in his NFL career. - Moss has never been suspended from the NFL - Moss is a top 5 talent at his position and has been consistently for years. - Can't really blame a guy for having a bad attitude in Oakland. It isn't called the "Black Hole" for nothing. We are not that thin at LB that we need the potential distractions and negative presence that Thurman is. Let another team give him a second chance....Oakland comes to mind.

Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
I like the thought of this guy being a good linebacker for nothing, but the Redskins dont ever get guys like this. I have read every late rou d draft pick they got and they all say hard worker great intangibles. They probably wont take this guy, even for free.

Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
If the Raiders I mean Bangles don't want him that's all I need to know. No way we sign him.

Re: Odell Thurman Cut:
Let the cowboys and Jerry Jones have him, our LB's will have to be enough this season we can address that need next year. No need for a player with his issues he just doesn't get it!

I remember seeing this thread thinking "for once can this just be about why he got cut and not a lobbying attempt to sign this guy for the minimum?" but that hasn't been working for me.
