Re: Kareem Moore

Kareem Moore - Redskins Insider

"Kareem injured his knee ironically while participating in a college all-star game in early Feb. We did not know the status of his knee at the time, so he started the game and played well. We later learned the extent of his injury and he had a scope performed on the knee about a week after the all-star game. He then rehabbed for a few weeks and performed all drills during two pro days, one at Ole Miss and another at Nicholls State. Scouts knew of his injury and could see he was performing well even after the knee was scoped a few weeks prior to the workouts.

"Kareem was widely considered the best safety in the south region during his senior year. The Redskins knew of his prior knee scope but could definitely see his upside. (Several other teams were equally as interested). So after he was drafted, the Redskins had him examined by the team doctor in Alabama. The doctor determined that he should have a second scope to fix the knee completely. The Redskins know that he is a player that can help the team immediately so they wanted the doctor to scope the knee asap. I think the scope took place the day after the draft ended.

"He is rehabbing now and hopes to be at full speed by the start of training camp. The doctor is expecting a full recovery and the knee will be stronger through this process."
