So does that mean that numbers picked up durn the week are called on the weekends and is after 5:00pm on Friday considered the weekend?

If the girl really likes him why would it even matter when he calls?

If its a weekday it is great because i'll probably be doing something Thursday night because i don't have friday classes and call her up with something to do that night or the weekend.

I feel it matters because it is important to display that you got your own shit going on. You want to be saying, you're cool but if nothing happens, thats ok because i got a lot of other stuff on my plate and a lot of other options.

But if we are really going to get into details... If i really have a good time then an e-mail (or facebook message) is a great way ot make a joke about something that happened that night and bridge the gap before you call her. I would proabably write to her tell her i'm going to call in a couple days and then call her. Most important you have to judge the situation. Each girl is different.
