Jones was a terrible pick. How do you make a converted college QB your 1st round draft pick?? Someone should get fired for that. He is the classic example that the combine is 90% garbage.
he had character flags and wasn't a very safe pick, but JAX bought into the hype. mike wiliams and reggie bush had the same deal (though reggie might figure it out still). you can search back and see posts here pre draft and see. i called reggie bush the best WR of the draft and jones-drew the best RB value, so the combine isn't worthless (it really helped jones-drew), but you can't base your draft on the combine alone. research is important.

QB to WR conversions just don't work that well. hines ward did it, but ARE isn't really anything more than average, same with jones, and i can't even remember any others.
