Re: Redskins Sign 3rd Round Pick Chad Rinehart
I'm glad to see that Joe Bugel really thinks he can do something with the kid. After the draft I kept on hearing about our new big 3 (Kelly, Thomas, Davis), Durant Brooks, Colt Brennan, and even Vinny's personal favorite, Justin Tyron. However the one guy for me that seemed to be left out of the converstation with an exception of a line or two from Vinny every now and then (man I really need a hobby lol) was Rhinehart.
The other guy though that no one mentions is Rob Jackson. So with that said ROB JACKSON BASHERS EXPLAIN!!!! Ha ha, I hate how I'm the only one that gets that joke. Anyway remember, the last 7th rounder we drafted out of K-State was Rock Cartwright, and he was a fullback that was suppose to end up as camp fodder. Now look at him, it would be awesome if Jackson could find his own way to contribute through the use of oddjobs.

Re: Redskins Sign 3rd Round Pick Chad Rinehart
not much to hate on rob jackson for, but i mean, he's still a 7th rounder that doesn't really have anyone expecting him to do much of anything really... so yeah, if he got cut tomorrow i doubt anyone would care, but if he shows up, that'd be nice.

Re: Redskins Sign 3rd Round Pick Chad Rinehart
I wouldn't be surprised to see Rinehart starting by 2009. Kendall's getting up in years, and Rinehart looks like a real mauler. I hope Buges can work his magic with the kid as he did with Derrick Dockery. Rinehart's our highest OL draft selection since we selected Dockery in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft - I see some nice parallels there.

Re: Redskins Sign 3rd Round Pick Chad Rinehart
Good news, the others will follow. In my time I've never heard of a 2nd rounder holding out & not making it to camp, especially w/the way the rookie $ is slotted. They'll all be ready for 7/20 (unless Davis oversleeps on his day to sign).
This Rinehart kid could turn out to be a crucial pick. We need the depth & a long term starter. If he doesn't pan out it will hurt. Even though he's just a 3rd round pick, they need him to step up immediately. Not necessarily as a starter, but as a utility man to fill in wherever needed (except center i suppose). One thing I thought of; if Jansen or Samuels goes down, who will replace them; Rinehart, Wade or Heyer? Wade would seem the choice if he's healthy, but it looked as if Heyer beat him out late last year. I definitely can't see them going w/the rook at LT, but maybe at RT. |
