Re: Should the Redskins take a run at Favre?

NFL Radio has brought this up a lot. There are a lot of connections that could lead someone to see Favre here. The type of West Coast system we'll be running is one Favre has seen a lot since it's going to basically be just like the Holmgren system.

Secondly, we don't have an entrenched QB. Not only is Jason Campbell still young and fairly unproven. But he's also not Zorn's "guy." While Zorn may like his future, he's not attached to him like coaches that use first round picks on QBs typically are.

Finally, we're a playoff team with a decent amount of talent. Favre will be looking for someone that has a chance.

Anyhow, Im torn on the issue. Favre is better than Jason Campbell, and it is a new offense for the young guy (yet again) letting him get a grasp on the playbook for a year or two. At the same time, I'm kinda ready for the Jason Campbell era. Time to see him sink or swim. If we go after him, I'll support the decision. If we don't, then I won't be upset in the least. Just trying to say, there are many reasons why Favre could at least be rumored to show up in DC.

Amen.

Thats the thing i'm trying to say also, Zorn likes JC but also likes Brennan 2 X's better. However Zorn does wan't to find JC to stay here and Favre make JC that ultamate weapon. If not JC than Favre and Zorn can work on Brennan for sure.

I don't want to sound like an peice of crap but JC is 26 now and Brannan could probably out play JC and Brannan is 24 years younger.

Back to my point have JC benched for one year and maybe actully have an pro-bowl year cause again Zorn said he is gonna run the ball"Alot" which means the passing is still not close to being great. While we get Favre it could speed things up and teach JC alot i mean alot say this would ruin JC progress but how? JC would be 27 while Romo was on bench for 2 years and ended up an pro-bowler.

I say Yes to Favre for one year, i mean to be honest our O sounds bad (besides Portis) every time an interview with Zorn he always saids" the D stop the skins all the time in the goal line and int alot of passes. I mean is our O gonna be good? or is the D just ruthless.

Brannan (or Brennan) is 24 years younger than Campbell? Wow!

I really don't know what Favre will teach Campbell

Slants,Timing, rhythm in deep balls, reading defensives plays better, you know the usual. Hopefully he doesn't teach him to throw INT's but finishing the game......its something we all want !don't we.!

Humph.

I believe in Zorn how ever, Zorn didn't make Matt Hasselback all by him self. Matty was behind Favre and what did Matty do after he started?.

Now you kinda see what i mean. I like Zorn and i know hes gonna be probably better than Gibbs but Zorn has to realize hes an new HC with an new OC. He needs all he can get to produce quickly and plus above all his playbook is similar to GB but GB has some passing plays we can use( if we brought Favre).

Also above all the one thing i think Favre can teach JC the most, (AND NO ARGUMENT HERE) is the play action fakes. Hes the best QB ive seen do the play action real well. JC could use that real well when you have speed on the field.

I just don't even know how to respond to this. Your posts are getting more and more convoluted.

I was thinking that too. But if you saw the Cowboys/Packs game * not in rude voice* Rogers IMO shouldn't have looked that good at all. Rogers did every thing right and i always wonder ( how did he learn so quick) than bam.

There's no way he would of been that good in one NFL debut unless he saw an vet in action and that vet thought him things.

YouTube - Aaron Rodgers 2007 Highlights (On Fire!)

Now Farve did bad that game no doubt but than again Cowboys had an great pass rush D and the packs had only two WR's.

No, of course not. That's just not possible. It's not like he was a first round pick or anything!

Goodbye, credibility.

When you say Zorn likes Brennan better, exactly what are you basing that on??

Nothing. But again .....kinda funny why he drafted him when we got Collins and JC right?. I like JC how ever I don't want him to go and Jason Campbell has the tools but there something wrong here. I can't explain but i think something is gonna happen during next year that will be an huge change.

Not really, we needed a #3 QB. You remember Mark Brunell? He's not with us anymore.

I remember Brunell clearly but i can explain the difference between Favre and Brunell.

Brunell was behind Favre in 1994( where Favre probably had his best year)

Brunell went to JAXS for 9-10 seasons and had good years

Brunell came i n 04-

Brunell before he came had that serious leg injury in JAX. When he came here he came to an team with an new scheme that took alot of time. Brunell didn't know all the calls and the offense didn't know as well. While Brunell came he needed to know the scheme perfectly .

-05 : Brunell back healthy and knew the scheme now came back with 23 TD's-10 INT's which could of been pro-bowl caliber with an 57 COM% rating.

- In comes Al

Brunell had to know the scheme again and Brunell IMO didn't lose us the games but the D it self never did good at all . So was it Brunells fault learning an new playbook again with some injures?.

-Brunell benched after Eagles game

Brunell played at his age and no harms here i don't blaim him for trying to know the 700 page book .

Now lets talk about Favre:

Favre comes in and become the greatest QB packs ever had.

9 pro-bowls 3-MVP - 1 SB ring( i think)

Till today last year Favre had the best COMP% season ever with 66.3 which is very high.

So again what can't Favre teach JC?.

No,no....no! Anyone remember how Johnny U. or Willie Joe finished their careers? That was a sin...Brett needs to go and coach a high school team and move on with his life.
