There's no way. After an offseason exemplifying restraint, why would we do this? it would be a zero-confidence vote on JC, we'd murder our cap to clear the space (correct me if I'm wrong Schneed, Canuck, et al.), it'd be a huge experiment for a first year and first time head coach to take on... This is just the residual rep from past Snyder spending sprees rearing it's ugly head, brought up by unimaginitive rumor mongering at PFT.

You're absolutely right of course. Just look at the source cited by PFT

"A reader tells us that WFAN’s Mike Francesa said earlier this afternoon that the Packers could be trading quarterback Brett Favre to the Carolina Panthers or the Washington Redskins for a conditional first-round draft pick."

So, second hand, they heard that a radio personality in New York City says the Packers will make the trade. Probably some caller asked the guys opinion and he suggested that the Redskins or Panthers would make a good landing spot.
