Wow. Hope Smoot is ok. But 2 DEs out for the year on the FIRST DAY? Oy.
From JLac: Buzbee Out for Season; Smoot Hurt Jason La Canfora calls this in from the field: Alex Buzbee, who was hurt 30 minutes into the afternoon practice, has a ruptured right Achilles' tendon and will miss the season, obviously. He will have surgery tomorrow. Starting corner Fred Smoot was receiving medical attention after being hurt in an 11-on-11 drill in the 3 p.m. practice. He was hurt on the far side of the field and the nature of his injury wasn't readily apparent. He was quickly surrounded by teammates and medical personnel; he was walking gingerly while being supervised by the medical staff. The injury appeared to be to his left ankle or foot and his left shoe was off.
