Portis to play Saturday - he doesn't seem too happy about it

I kinda see where he's coming from with the injuries we've had in the past. If I recall correctly he's gearing up for a big season because he going to run "with that chip on his shoulder again".
On the other hand, you are not special. If we are going to risk our starting QB to get some snaps, get your butt out there and run some people over.

You're a pro. Suck it up and play. I love watching Portis. I've been a fan of his since he was at the U. I understand about not wanting to get injured in preseason, but I have to agree with Hagams. If Campbell is going to get some reps and possibly get hit, you need to do the same.

I think even though Campbell and most of the first string offense are taking reps, that doesen't necessarily mean that Clinton should too. First, running back's bodies take more of a toll than any other position on the field, therefore the risk of injury is very high. Second, Clinton has nothing to prove. He will not have a problem entering the offense and gelling when the season starts. For Clinton, preseason really is meaningless, we need him fresh when it matters.

I love the guy, I love his sense of humor, I love his play on the field and I really don't care if he practices or not as long as he performs when it counts, but sometimes I need a damn translator to figure out what the guy is saying.
