Dem. John Edwards admits to affair, political career possibly over

I think people would probably respond a bit differently if Edwards came right out when this was first brought up a couple of years ago and said "Yes, I made a mistake. I've told my wife and family. It's been a difficult process but we're working through it" Instead of the repeated denials. I think people are more likely to "trust"/forgive a politician who cheats than one who lies.
