Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Coaching is to blame too...no adjustments.
Why start passing at your own 10....twice....and they game planned...dont they know the panthers have a great dline? You need to run right at them...especially to get the oline going...then after seeing the struggles...no shifting to shotgun.. I wont even mention the defensive lack of attacking...to vanilla, easy to pick apart..i sure hope we do more on defense. The coach has a positive perspetive on Jason Taylor speaking with Sonny

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
I hope Zorn coaches him on this area this week. You can't hold on to the ball with Peppers out there. I'm not sure if he should have gone outside of the pocket or not, but he either needed to buy himself more time or just get rid of it. Otherwise, he's going to get killed by the Jax D-Line next week.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Interesting that Dr. James Andrews was at the game with the team. Is that guy on our payroll?
Hopefully just a sprain- Zorn seems to think it's either high or low ankle, not knee. hmmmmm

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Im starting to think our offensive line is designed for a Don Coryell style of offense...run first to set up play action.
I dont know if our line is prepared to go back on their heels to pass protect so often. Our line is a smash mouth line that like to move forward. I really think the transition of the oline has been overlooked

This is a veteran line that has seen just about everything. No excuses for a performance like we saw tonight. |

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
I must have missed this earlier Jansen hurt with ankle injury, not sure if high or low. Just caught this on the post-game interview with Zorn on Comcast w/B Mitch & Co.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
They don't know. Depends on if the 'sprain' is high or low. That has a lot to do with come back time, you can usually come back much quicker with a low sprain..have to wait and see. Another bad start for Jansen.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
He's been getting beat for a sack in each of these preseason games. Sometimes I wonder if the window is closing on Jon Jansen.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Yeah this is not good. Makes me wonder if the team should have gotten a lineman in the 2nd round instead of a 2nd WR (or Davis???). I just hope we have enough talent in the backups should he go down again (or keep getting beaten)

However, after going on three years filled with injuries, and IMO this pre-season coming off a major surgery he just hasn't looked good at all. I think Jansen's time is running out, I could see this being Jon's last season as a Redskin.
