Understood. My eyes tell me that Torrence would be better in that role, but the full disclosure is that I may be giving Torrence the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't yet deserve.

Still, if it came to an injury in the secondary, I would much rather see Doughty out there again (assuming of course that he were to get benched due to poor play in order to make Springs switch positions) then have Ricky Manning start at CB for us.

Of course, I'm not arguing against added flexibility here, if that is the ultimate goal.
